The Chair referred to the Committee’s decision at its meeting held on 23 January 2024 (Minute 25 refers), which agreed to receive a report on governance and assurance arrangements of Brighter Futures for Children at a future meeting, in accordance with the Committee’s responsibility: ‘To review the governance and assurance arrangements for significant partnerships or collaborations.’  The Committee was asked to reconsider this decision to avoid duplication of work with Policy Committee, which was going to review the BFfC Contract in the current year.  The Chair reported that officers had instead offered to prepare an overview of the companies the Council either owned or had a significant interest in, which the Committee could use to identify issues for more in depth investigation at future meetings.

AGREED:       That a high-level overview report of the governance and assurance arrangements of companies, the Council either owned or had a significant interest in, be submitted to the Committee’s next meeting on 25 September 2024.
